MyDimdim Widget: the way to go!!

My fellow bloggers would agree as to how inserting interesting and handy widgets into our blogs add flare to them. But, this time I have come across a widget which has fascinated me so much to write a blog on that “Widget” itself!!!

Going back into my school days, I still remember when I first heard of this thing called ‘The Internet’, defined in layman terms as a kind of interlinked web where one can find any and every info in the world with a click on the computer. As I became more familiar to this new concept, chatting and using webcams made me wonder more if there would ever be a day when we could actually step inside the computer and meet distant people across the world. I must say ‘web conferencing’ comes very close to my imagination and DIMDIM has made this so much less-complicated, fun and pocket-friendly.

We all agree that in this era of globalization, we cannot live in silos. Our work & personal life calls for endless rounds of emails & chats, constant meetings & follow-ups and complicated schedules. At least for me, attending a meeting depends on whether I happen to see my Outlook reminder on time; or arranging a webinar – that’s a hassle which can only be tackled by the network department of my company.

Here, Dimdim comes to our rescue – offering a truly collaborative online interaction. Numerous features which I could see at a glance are document sharing, screen sharing, whiteboarding, chat windows & audio-video connects (am sure I would discover many more as I use). And the enablers are nothing but very user friendly & interactive ‘do-it-yourself’ widgets.
Just a click to schedule your meeting and we have our personal widget for each meeting on our profile. Once we create a widget for a meeting, the attendees are automatically invited. We can even track, search and edit our meetings with a number of customizable options. Moreover, we can even share the widget with our friends on other applications like Facebook. Attendees can register themselves and join the meeting through the widget, which we can view as registrations in our profile.

This one-click interface – widget is just like a switch, which makes us enter an entirely new world of web conferencing – which is more like a virtual television. Inside, there are even other controls (read: widgets) for various tasks like video & audio widget, chat widget, document share widget etc.
Some more days of browsing this exciting application, I am sure to inculcate a good habit of opening up ‘My Dimdim’ page daily first thing in the morning to check my schedule for the day and avoid unnecessary hassles of missing my meetings, troubleshooting technical snags or dealing with the networking department, thereby saving my time and efforts.
A must try for all!!
